Learn About Us

We work towards a more equitable and sustainable future for Jharkhand and beyond.

Afsara Self Organisation was founded in 2015 by Nighat Parween, a dedicated social worker inspired by her work with ICDS. Witnessing the challenges faced by underprivileged communities, Nighat envisioned creating a platform to uplift and empower those in need, particularly women and girls. Driven by her passion for social change, Nighat began holding meetings at the end of every month last Sunday and on days when she was free from her job. These gatherings became a space to organize initiatives and provide support to those in need. Her dedication has shaped Afsara Self Organisation into a beacome of hope for many.
